I looked at the info sheet closely and it said "low steroid" content. Not sure exactly what that means but I guess it's better than "high"? My rash is getting better (less showing) and I'm due to quit the anti-histamine on Monday.
Does anyone know what I might expect then? Will the rash return or stay as it is that day?

It's anyone's guess. If your rash started as a result of an environmental trigger and you're now somehow avoiding that trigger, you might be fine. On the other hand, if your meds are only suppressing the rash, it could flare back.Does anyone know what I might expect then? Will the rash return or stay as it is that day?
I hope your skin stays calm!

Thanks, Kathy and Zizzzle! That's the frustrating thing - I have no idea what triggered my dermatographia. The only possible trigger that I can think of would be stress, which I've been having in higher doses than usual. I know that is a huge factor in our illness.

Zizzle,
You weren't just whistlin' Dixie when you labeled that as a "Great overview". It is indeed an excellent overview.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
I came across this conversation while trying to figure out why I keep having sporadic wheals appear out of no where, and in random spots. So far its appeared on my buttocks, tops of my shoulders, the fleshy part on top of my hand near my thumb, and my hip/groin area. I am so over this...and the worse part is I never know when it will appear next or where.
I read the over view shared by Zizzle and printed it off. I'm sure there may be better information out there by now as this overview is 3 years old already.
I'm wondering if after a period of healing we go thru a protocol of sorts because it appears I have been following a pattern after listening to many who are just starting to heal to those that have 7 or more years of healing under their belt....
It's like we could almost number the things in order as they are about to happen (in a fairly normal MC situation)...
This Uticaria thing seems to have hit people and then the next thing in line with this healing will take its place (which I am not sure what that is yet...but I'm sure there's something).
Please someone tell me what happened to them after this phase I can't wait to know what is in store for me after this.

Might be total coincidence, but the locations you describe are precisely where my Dermatomyositis skin rashes appear the most: shoulders, buttocks, hips, knuckles. But they don't come and go like hives, my rash is always with me, just varies in severity and itch.

Oh dear me Zizzle....
If I had to endure the wheals on an ongoing basis such as yourself, I may slip a gear and freak out! How do you maintain?
I'm trying to pay attention to how they come on, and what I ate a few hours before hand....I have not had another one since I posted on the 15th and now it is the 18th....cross my fingers I may have been over doing things and it is a stress to the body. If that is the case perhaps I can figure this out, but it is going to take antihistamines for a while it seems.
Hugs to you, I wish you didn't have to deal with this type of thing on a daily basis.
