Leah,
I went for an MRI for my knee and it was discovered that I had a slightly enlarged right lobe thyroid. The biopsy results were in today and the report states that I have "suspicious for papillary carcinoma". The doc recommends removing the right lobe on SPECULATION. It is inconclusive so to be safe they rather remove it. Of course they won't know until they actually do a laparascopy and if there is presence of malignant cells in the lobe or lymph nodes they will then decide if they do surgery. So the whole thing is "let's open and see what's going on then we'll decide" type thing.
What was your experience, Leah?
Anyone with thyroid cancer or issues, please chime in.
Thanks.
Monique

Diagnosed 2011 with LC. Currently on Low Dose Naltrexone (LDN)
HI Monique. Sorry to hear that something might be going on, but I guess it's lucky that they found it while looking at something else. My experience was that they found a "spot" on my mammography. Then they did a needle biopsy to see if it was malignant, but that was of the breast. When I had the lumpectomy, they took out the three "main" lymph nodes and sent them to the lab. Fortunately, the nodes were clear of cancer. Please get this looked at as soon as you can and let me know what they find. I'll be thinking of you. DebE had thyroid cancer and had it removed.
