Pains in my Legs
I am working an elimination diet right now. Although my MC is significantly better, a couple of days ago I started with pains in both legs from my hips down to my calves. Is it normal to have more aches and pains with MC and the elimination diet or is this something else to be concerned about? Thanks.

pains in the legs are a common MC symptom, and most commonly relate to magnesium deficiency.
epsom salt foot soaks will help alot. there are also magnesium oil / spray products that you spray on the skin.
the advantage of using the foot soaks / sprays etc is that there is no risk of causing D by supplementing magnesium this way.
for some, taking too much magnesium orally causes D.

with Gabes. Magnesium is by far the most common cause of leg and foot cramps. A deficiency of other electrolytes can also cause the problem (potassium, sodium, calcium, etc.) in some cases.

I've been trying to drink Gatorade every day to help with those electrolytes and I am tolerating it quite well. Since I was taking magnesium before and then stopped, I'm not surprised if that was it. One thing the dietician told me the other day was that I should stay away from "pills" as just one more thing my body has to digest. She suggested I start on a multivitamin plus vitamins D3 but to get those as chewables. I have been reluctant to start the magnesium again because it's big ole' horse pills but I may have to. Thanks again for all your help.

in normal cases we need about 400mg to 600mg of magnesium per day,
if there is inflammation and other issues the usage goes up.
to correct deficiency you need 800mg-1000mg per day.
Alot of people here have managed to have high doses of magnesium via the spray and espom salt foot soaks - no need for the tablets... I am taking about 600mg orally (via a powder) and 600mg or more via the spray and foot soaks.
With the spray, i have a bottle by the loo, spray top of my legs every time i go. Spray neck, stomach and full legs morning and night.
I take a few of my supplements as lingual version - with the MC issues it is worth the extra outlay to optimise absorption.
