Pretty great story. I hope the diet continues to work for her. Thanks for sharing, Deb.

A young man (Jason) in my church, 16 years old at the time, was diagnosed with Chrohns at the same time his family home was found to be filled with toxic mold. After the mold was removed, the family moved back in but Jason got sicker when he was inside. He moved into a tent in the back yard (!!) and started researching Chrohns. He found a diet, basically a Paleo diet, and decided to try to control his disease himself without drugs. This is one very determined kid. I borrowed the book he was using because I was struggling to find a diet that worked. He began feeling better and now has his disease under control. If a 16-year-old could have the will power to stick to such a strict diet in order to feel well, I decided I could do it, too.

He's in college now and doing well. His Mom says he is extremely disciplined and sticks with the diet regardless of peer pressure or the lack of appropriate food. Paleo diet can be a life saver for some of us.

That's great, Sheila. I think younger people are becoming more aware of food issues and hopefully will deal with them earlier than I did! Deb
