Hi Adele,
To add an emoticon or 2 to your post, when you get to where you want to add it/them, click on the link that says, "View more Emoticons", to the left of the message composing box, and the system will pop up a window that you can expand to see all the available emoticons. Just select the one/ones you want by clicking on them, and the system will automatically add the necessary code to your message, so that after you submit the post, everyone's browser will display the the emoticon when they view your post.
Once you have the code in your message, you can also cut and paste it into a different location, if you want to move it within your message.
