I ordered New Eakand Lanolin Cream from Amazon and am loving it! It came in a two pack so I'm giving one to my Mom since she has severe cracking issues with her hands year round. Pleasant smell.

Where is DebE from? And, you, Donna, where are you from?

I doubt anyone will hold it against me! I mentioned wanting to try the lanolin idea a few weeks back, but will be passing on doing that. I've been trying a few new diet ideas lately, in particular avoiding all bovine items. I'm doing better I feel. I guess lanolin comes from sheep wool, I believe, and sheep are related to cows ...it's a stretch and I'd likely be safe using, but figure to play it safe.

The lanolin idea sounds wonderful though in particular for those over the age of 40. I've read, and seen on a few doctors sights with patients that test their vitamin D levels, that our ability to create vitamin D in our skin drops off as we age, sometimes dramatically. I'd guess the lanolin lotion could help with that problem.

Paula, it might be easier for DebE if we would try and meet in Eau Claire. I didn't realize where she was located. I am in Rochester. Donna is north and west of me.

Blueberry,
Sheep are quite different to cow/bovine.

Other than cocoa butter, or coconut oil lanolin is the most natural form of moisteriser you could use.

I started to use the lanolin as a sunscreen, it was the most natural, being chemical free, alcohol free, and soy free sunscreen available. Figuring out that it would help produce Vit D3 was a secondary find and benefit.
If you don't have dry skin, enjoy it while you can. Dry skin has been an for me since excess inflammation started.

Gabes,

The mention about sheep and bovine cross reaction came from an allergen book I read. I agree, it's likely not an issue, but figure I'll play it on the safe side for the time being. That is something I've noticed since avoiding dairy and beef, that my skin has turned more moist. It wasn't a big problem for me before, but it's been a nice item to see.

Deb & Paula,

When were you thinking of scheduling a get together? My schedule is fairly open.

I think I will have to wait until spring. Things are pretty hectic here through Christmas and then we head south for the winter. Deb

Deb,

Yes, spring would work best, we get back from Arizona the first part of April. We will have to reconnect when the weather is more predictable, perhaps sometime in May.

Wish I could say I go South for winter months also, but I don't. My work is busiest Janaury through the end of April, so I expect with the holidays and the long busy income tax season at work, I won't be going anywhere until May myself. The weather will be better for all of us as well. So... we have Rochester, Lakeville, La Crosse and Wausau. Eau Claire would probably work best for everyone. It's a couple hours North of me. I didn't realize we were fairly close to each other.
