Throid meds and Vit. C

Post by DebE13 »

I ran across an article stating that for some people taking Vit. C along with their thyroid meds could help with absorption. Does anyone here find that it has been helpful for them? I'm considering it as a "what the hell, I might as well try it" but then I am hesitant to add any supplements that could make my MC worse.

Deb,

I don't know whether vitamin C helps with absorption but I do know that it can cause d and if you decide to take it you have to be very careful with the dosage, starting low and going up slowly to avoid potentially causing D.

Thanks for the reminder. It's a toss up..... Possibly help one problem and create another? No easy solutions with MC  The article referenced it helping to lower TSH, which I'm not currently having a problem with but the idea was appealing to take something that could help with absorption since I know that's an issue anyway. It's been 18 days since I've taken any Entocort so I don't want to upset that. The last time I stopped I only made it 23 days.
