A visit from Norman today!
YES! I only went once yesterday (still loose) but woke up today to a perfectly normal BM. The things that we celebrate around here!
I just looked at the calendar and I started the elimination diet on Sept. 10th, so almost 3 months. I've made some mistakes along the way, added and subtracted meds and supplements, tried and rejected some foods. I'm not silly enough to think that this is remission, BUT IT FEELS SO GOOD to get that clarification that I'm on the right track.
And I've lost 10# - much needed. I feel close to my old self today - Happy dance!

Awesome! Few things bring such an empowering feeling as seeing confirmation that we are definitely on the right track to get our health back.
I hope that you continue to make progress.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
Thanks, everyone. You're the world's best cheerleaders!
A bit more of a mixed bag today, but still trending Norman. I remember how impatient I was 3 months ago to solve this problem quickly, get off the Entocort, get the Enterolab testing and commence a more normal lifestyle. Typical of my Can-Do, Type A personality! I've learned a lot since then about all the ups and downs of this disease. Still taking 3mg. of Entocort a day and will not try to taper until at least after the holidays.
Speaking of the holidays, let's start sharing some good strategies for making alternative, tasty food to combat the Christmas candy and holiday foods temptations!

wonderful news!!
its about Progress .... not perfection...
and improvements like this keeps us motivated to stick with the eating plan....
Being a sweet tooth I have loads of suggestions!!!
There are some great Orgran Cake Mixes / Desert mixes (available on amazon)
They are gluten free, dairy free, soy free, and can be made egg free if needbe.
When I make the Orgran - brownies I boost mine with a little bit of coconut oil / cocoa butter plus some of the Enjoy life chocolate chips
There is a chocolate mouse mix that makes great icing /filling for the chocolate cake
I make the vanilla cake with a few blackberries - once it comes out of the oven i put some extra GF/DF/SF spread (butter replacement) on the top and sprinkle with a cinnamon/coconut sugar mix. (makes it a vanilla tea cake type thing)
The self saucing chocolate pudding is pretty yum, I have served this with coocnut ice cream.
There are also some recipes in the Dee's kitchen area
I have also managed to adapt quite a few of my pre 'MC' recipes. increase the liquid amount by 15-20% to compensate for using GF flour mixes.
using things like coconut oil, cocoa butter etc are good replacements for dairy/milk fat
