Antibiotics

Post by humbird753 »

Has anyone ever heard of Colloidal Silver. Reading an article from Bob Livingston which says until the beginning of the development of modern antibiotics in the 1940s, colloidal silver was the natural antibiotic of choice and had been for 50 years. At that time pharmaceutical antibiotics looked like miracles because, in the beginning, there were no antibiotic resistant strains of disease organisms. So, naturally colloidal silver disappeared into the memory hole.

The article further says that before 1938 it was used for internal infections such as flu, fevers, herpes, hepatitis, Epstein-Barr, bronchitis, pneumonia and yeast/vaginal infections. It was used for external infections such as in the eyes, ears, sore throat, dental abscesses, nasal/sinus, poison oak, and rashes, burns, cuts and bites, and athlete's foot.

Since there is often a concern about taking antibiotics, I am wondering if anyone here has ever heard of this "natural" antibiotic, or have used it?

I just did a search, and see someone recently asked about this, and also didn't get much in response. So I guess that answers my question.

I more than likely have done this backwards.... Ask, then research.

Although I am very aware that health care professionals don't have all the answers, I found this from Mayo Clinic:

Hi Skyward - Thank you for sharing this. I had never heard of him. Although the Mayo Clinic article mentioned the skin color change, it never occurred to me it would have been to that extent.

Several years ago, sometimes I would have small boils that would show up on my abdomen despite me practicing good hygiene. These would drain and heal but were a nuisance. I started putting a medicine dropper full of tea tree oil in a new bottle of body wash. That helped but they still showed up occasionally. After I mentioned this to a friend that works in a local Vitamins Plus, she suggested I try colloidal silver. This reduced the occurence further. I don't remember having any since I retired over 3 years ago.

On another note, I have been taking a teaspoon of black seed oil (cumin oil) twice a day. This is supposed to reduce inflammation. About a week ago, I noticed that I do feel better, not as many aches and stiffness in my joints.

Paula,
There are some articles on the net that say that taking the collidial silver caused more issues than benefit.... As it caused too much upheaval in the gut.

The tricky part to all this what will work and what doesn't work is reliant on soooo many variables, candida, leaky gut, sibo, bacteria, parasites, histamine, inflammation in general.
Collidial silver helps balance bacteria, but if your issue is candida or parasites, then it most likely will cause issues...

The other tricky part with any thing like this, when you start this type of protocol, things tend to get worse before they get better, ie you will have D, gas etc while the body clears toxins as the thing you are taking starts to work, so it takes 8-12 weeks before you can know if it is working..

Hope this helps
