Probiotics/histamine

Post by ldubois7 »

Did you know that some strains of probiotics are histamine liberators? Lacto Casei and Lacto bulguras are two that I've been reading about. I have been searching for a clean allergy free probiotic for a few weeks, and in light of this information am wondering what brand to take? They all seem to have the two mentioned above or at least one strain.

I want to take Lacto and Bifido as I am having digestive issues again.... Again?....they haven't ceased in 2 years..... but I'm fine tuning.....

Linda,
Both my naturopath and nutrititionist say that recent research encourages using single strain forms of pro-biotics.
I can not recall the strain name (sorry) but will ask them.

Gabes,

The two strains that I found that are good for us (with histamine issues) are bifidobacterium infantis and bifido longum, and Lactobacillus rhamnosus.

It's hard to find a product that has those strains without the 'bad' ones..... :(

Linda,

You can get single strain probiotics here:

http://www.customprobiotics.com/

I used to buy yogurt starter from them, in the days when I made yogurt. I have not used their single strain probiotics.

I decided to order GutPro probiotic because it had all the strains I was looking for! Wish me luck!
Thanks Jean for the CustomProbiotics site....it was between GutPro & Custom and in the end GutPro has an exact blend that I was looking for....
