Can't take a trick

Post by Liz »

Well some people never learn. Went & bought a new seat for my bike (much against my daughters advice) Went to try it out when we got home. Bad move.  :???: My back is still very sore from Saturdays little adventure but I still tried to get on it. It is really too high now anyway because of the extra springs & cushioning. But the upshot was that I finished up in a screaming heap .......again   Got a bit shook up & grazed by bottom & leg on the concrete. Think I will stay in bed tomorrow, or perhaps make up a bed on the floor...you can't fall any further. Think I will buy a nice little three wheel tricycle. Saw one at the bike shop but it is $700.00. Hmmmmm, well maybe.

Love

 Awww, Liz!!!! I can't believe you tried it out so soon after your other mishap!!!

I don't blame you if you do stay in bed for a day or two.

Good grief, girl. I am so sorry for you. You really have to start taking it a bit easier on yourself! I am joining you in pain at the moment as I have had a toothache all weekend. Ouch. I go to the dentist tomorrow morning. Til then it's tylenol every 4 hours!

There was a woman in our neighborhood who had one of those 3 wheel bikes. I've never tried one but it might be a good idea. The other thing that looks appealing to me is the recumbant bike. With that model you are sitting down low and probably could put your foot out to easily stop a fall. So far I am riding my regular bike, though most of the time now we ride on bike paths, rather than in traffic.

Happy healing. Stay in the rocking chair.

Wow! Liz,

This hasn't been a very good week for you, has it? When it rains it pours.

Are you aware that 3-wheelers will tip over also? The pedal-powered 3-wheelers are not as bad about that as the power-driven models, but they will all tip/roll, if you turn a corner too fast.

I hope things go much more smoothly this week.

I suggest staying off anything with wheels until you fully recoup from the first fall, and now the second.

Gee Wizz Liz!

I just read about your OTHER fall and now this? Your a glutten for punishment!

I hope today you are in the house, in bed, shades drawn, lights out and doors locked. Thats about as safe as it gets.

Hope your day goes better.

Good Grief Liz! :mallet: You must think you are 20 and can bounce right back after all these accidents. Stay off or away from anything with moving parts or sharp objects. Back away from the Bike! I do hope that you have a better week this week. Last week was a bust for you. Love Oma

Wel I am back on deck again this morning. Sore rear end and knee to add to my woes but I will live. Taking your advice & Staying as close to the fllor as possible
Wayne I don't think I will be speeding around corners if I do get a three wheeler, just sedate little peddles up to the shops (2 mile return) & round about to friends. I would not get one with a motor because the main object of the excersise is just that, excersise In any case will just take it easy for a while.
You are right Oma, I am not 20 (or even 30,40,50) anymore & maybe I should start acting my age. :???: Or at least slowing down a bit. This business really knocked the stuffing out of me. Next week I will feel better.
Hazel I hope your toothache is going away. Nasty.

If not for the seriousness of taking a fall, you would be funny!

Take care and heal fast!

Mars, I know I am extremely lucky not to have broken any bones, especially my neck, on Saturday, the way it sort of crunched. And the bruise on my bum is near the hip bone. With the effect that Prednisone has had on my bones it is a wonder. I thank my lucky stars that no more damage has been done.

Love

Morning/Nigh Liz??

Well you are really the adventurous one and I would suggest the same as above that you avoid anything with wheels for a while. You have more energy than I taking on so much athletic endeavor. I can get past work and just vegging. Have taken up very industrous house cleaning to start the new year.

Hope you are feeling better today.
