Hi

How high temperature can coconut oil stand? Most beneficial elements disappear when heated? No?

I take raw ecological extra virgin coconut oil as a supplement.

Just found this about coconut oil:

Choose unrefined coconut oil if you desire the fullest coconut flavor and the most phytonutrients. Choose refined coconut oil when cooking at higher temperatures. Refined coconut oil has a smoking point of 450 degrees Fahrenheit, while unrefined coconut oil has a smoking point of 350 degrees Fahrenheit. To get the most health benefits from a refined coconut oil, seek out varieties that are processed with the least amount of chemicals and that are not partially hydrogenated.

Whole article is here:

I saute vegetables in coconut oil but only with moderate heat. I use unrefined coconut oil.

Lilja,

FYO, 350 degrees Fahrenheit is equal to 177 degrees Celsius (or centigrade), and 450 degrees F. is equal to 232 degrees C.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.

I was wearing undereye concealer and a touch of lip gloss....nothing else. I think it is due to coconut oil, olive oil and our healthy food regimen.

Yes, we have a lot of issues to deal with, but our regimen is healthy. I met a person I hadn't seen for many years, and the first thing she said "Whatever food regimen you follow, just keep on. Your skin is beautiful" (not bad for a 67 year old).
