Does anyone know if FMT (Fecal microbial transplant) can help with MC?
The concept grosses me out but if it could help...
Anyone who would know of a great support group like this one for UC (ulcerative colitis)? It looks like my son is going to be diagnosed with it this week (colonoscopy). I can't believe it! Two colitis in the family in one year!!

If you do a search of the archives you will find that quite a few members have tried that technique (some of them have tried it many times), with no success. FMT works well for certain intestinal bacterial infections (specifically, antibiotic-resistant C. diff infections), but so far, no one has been able to resolve MC symptoms by using FMT.
Actually, the diet works well for UC also, but I doubt that you will find any UC discussion and support boards that acknowledge the use of diet as a first line of treatment. We have several members who have UC, and who control their symptoms by diet, but most of them don't post very often. Please read NJ's post (post number 5 ) in the thread at the link below. Nathan has controlled his UC by diet changes alone for many years now. I'm sure that he would be willing to help answer any questions that you might have if you want to email him.

We will have a diagnosis for my son on Thursday or Friday. I'm doing the SCD intro diet with him and it seems to be helping (day 3 now). I'm convinced that UC and Crohn's can be managed with diet and I'm researching it heavily right now.

If you look at the bottom of every post, you will see a set of "buttons" that provide live links to contact information for whoever wrote that post. IOW, the buttons at the bottom of this post are associated with contact information for me.
Therefore, the buttons at the bottom of Nathan's post are associated with contact information for Nathan. If you click on his "email" button (the last button on the right, at the bottom of his post), the system will open up an email-composing window where you can write an email and then send it to him by clicking on the "send" button.
There are published research reports that show that diet changes can be used to treat Crohn's and UC, but most doctors just ignore them, because they are trained to write prescriptions, not recommend diet changes.
