Volatile blood tests

Post by Greengoddess »

My blood tests are showing different counts in the last year. In particular blood sugar is going up and down every few weeks. But the most persistent problem is a white count slightly below normal. This concerns me and I would like to know if anyone else has this. It doesn't seem to worry my GP.

Yes, I've had that happen a few times. The most recent was back in October, when I went to the ER with a kidney stone problem, and they did some blood tests. My GP wasn't concerned about it either.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.

Kidney stones? Yikes. It's gets kind of everywhere. Was looking at a video about endocrine disrupters and wondering just how much of MC as distinct for the other two iBD is at least triggered by something widespread in the evironment.

There are many, many known causes of MC, but according to our own poll, most of the members here feel that stress is the number 1 cause, followed by antibiotics.

Do You Know (Or Believe That You Know) What Caused Your MC?

Incidentally, the first stone wasn't a major problem. But when a second one decided to leave (three weeks after the first), it triggered the first MC reaction that I've had in years. Fortunately it didn't last long. Apparently the first stone caused a lot of inflammation (but not enough to trigger an MC reaction), and the additional inflammation from the second event pushed the inflammation level over the threshold at which an MC reaction is triggered. It kind of surprised me, but there was no doubt that it was an MC reaction, because in addition to the watery diarrhea, I even had the characteristic loud gurgling gut noises that are so common with MC.

I agree about stress. I was. Psychotherapist for 26 years. I used to lecture on that subject. We didn't know the pathways at that point, only that there was a connection. Even knowing this I allowed myself to be exposed to the exact sort of stress that can trigger AIs. Still it's never to late!
