Sarah, I'm so glad to hear from you! You haven't posted since before the holidays and I've been worried about how you are doing. It's great to hear that improvements are happening. I found that once I crossed the "month anniversary" of the special diet, sticking with it got much easier. I'm now on 3.5 months and feeling SO much better.
And good for you for talking about this with your doctor. I have been more of a chicken about this and cancelled my Nov. appt. with the GI doctor cause he has poo-poohed any diet changes and would just shoot me down. I have a couple of appointments with other doctors coming up, though, and will be more frank.

Interesting visit with your doctor. You have either added a number of innovative new options to her treatment repertoire, or totally mystified her.
Good for you. Hopefully she will benefit greatly from your sharing of information.
The biggest benefit of the mychart program (IMO) is the ability to see your test results as soon as they become available to your doctor, usually by the next day after the sample is drawn, unless they have to send samples out for testing. I love it. It eliminates having go to the hospital/clinic and filling out a form and signing a request, just to get a copy of our test results.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
Wow! The mychart worked great! I got the e mail and here are the results. The time from when the blood was drawn to when the results came back was ten minutes less than a full 24 hours- and apparently the lab was in another state!
So- the blood testing for food allergy shows nothing at all.
Hmmm.
Not sure what to make of that...and the prospect of doing enterolab tests.

It's not possible to accurately copy tables directly to a discussion board post, because the php interpreter in your browser will reformat the table, moving everything out of the proper position, unfortunately. And some of the symbols used in medical results tables tell the php interpreter to do things that don't make any sense to us, but that is because those symbols are reserved as commands in php code. IOW, we can't use certain symbols in a post, because they alter the way that php interpreters respond.
But anyway, the reason why all those results are negative is because they are IgE-based test results. They represent the potential for an allergic reaction to those respective allergens, but they are useless for food-sensitivity testing for our digestive system. IOW, those results simply tell you that you are not allergic to those foods (that is, they don't cause a conventional allergic response, possibly including anaphylaxis). But they provide no information about longer-term IgA responses.
In order to detect food sensitivities that are applicable for MC (or other digestive system issues), we have to use IgA-based tests (such as the ones offered by EnteroLab).
Your GI specialist should be aware of that limitation for those tests, but apparently she knows nothing about testing for food sensitivities in the gut. That's why she didn't recognize EnteroLab.
