Even the water's not safe?

Post by Jean »

Hi All,

I mentioned that I was at a Turf Grass conference. Well, I went to lunch with the guys on Tuesday. When I went to order, it was obvious that the waitress had no idea how to handle my food intolerances, so I opted for a glass of water (I had packed a lunch). When she got me a second glass of water, I noticed that she got it out of one of those bar sprayers. You know, the kind that you push a button and either water, soda or pop comes out. Well, I had a reaction Tuesday night and was out of action yesterday.

Theoretically, I could have gotten some corn syrup in my water. It seems so trivial, but I can't think of any other way I could have been contaminated that day.

Love, Jean

Morning Jean,

That really sucks. Sometimes you just can't seem to win.

I hope the reaction is completely gone by now.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.

Hi Jean,

I've noticed that when restaurants failing health inspections are posted in our news, one of the reasons cited is mold on the pop dispenser nozzles. Have you ever gotton a pepsi that tastes moldy? I have, and now I'm a little creeped out by fast food pop dispensers. Maybe that could be the reason you got sick?

Sorry, not fun, Love, Marsha

Very interesting, Jean.

You have really earned your detective hat. Yep, I'd guess you are correct. The nozzle/tube was contaminated somehow. The mold thing is interesting, Marsha. Hope all is OK now.

Love,

Polly
