First time here

Post by RachelB »

This site has helped me understand and deal with my condition better than anything else I have found. Thank you!

This antihistamine diet has helped. Trying Cholestramine powder has reduced my explosive nature. Otherwise, just having to deal with it. It is so
much better than it was. Pretty much normal life now, but only cautiously active. Running and biking just ain't what they used to be.

Probable cause: food allergy leading to insomnia treated by Tylenol PM for too long. Later learned that had I cut the food (an evening yogurt), I would have slept fine.

I hope anyone reading this also finds their peace with this condition.

Hi Rachel,

Welcome to our Internet family. It's a pleasure to read that you have been able to reduce your symptoms by utilizing some of the information that you found here. Determining food issues and resolving them is not an easy task, but it virtually always pays off with much better quality of life, and better health.

Thank you for posting, and sharing your experiences. I hope that your health continues to improve. Again, welcome aboard, and please feel free to ask anything.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.

Welcome Rachel.
My one piece of advice...in hindsight I wish I had taken all the great advice here from day one. At the beginning I kept thinking some of what the doctors said must be true! It would have been a lot easier to go on the restricted diet at the beginning.
