It's amazing at how popular gluten free eating has become and is mentioned! Fiat has a commercial that lightly pokes fun at gluten free, there was a show I briefly saw The Long Island Medium (Yes, a guilty pleasure!) with a show debating whether her and her daughter should eat gluten free, Pizza Hut just announced a new gluten free pizza. Crazy.

I remember a couple years ago a guy that worked in the food industry, heatedly telling me gluten free foods would be a fad! One soon to be replaced. Adding it would be replaced by a new idea of a fresh fruit and vegetable stands at all stores nations wide, or something like that. Could be I thought - but the gluten free fad seems to keep going and being mentioned.

Signed. Appalling. This is one of the reasons why many restaurants don't take it as serious as they should. And think of the children being marginalized because they are different. I'm really surprised that this would be considered as an ad.

Can you say anything you want in an ad?

Why don't the authorities stop this kind of bullying behavior?

No agency would even think of making this kind of advertisement, and if they tried, they - and the product - would become so unpopular that they would be out of business in a second. Very strict regulatory authorities here, where I live.

For better and for worse

Yeah, not great for those with severe gluten sensitivity. Understandable why many would be upset. The comedian Nick Offerman, I believe, in the commercial is from a town I used to live in for a long while, he's the same age as me too. I believe he, in his car dude act, is known for mentioning the only meal worth eating is steak, bacon, followed down with whiskey. He doesn't care for vegetables or fruits much. From appearances looks like he could benefit from avoiding wheat, and eating some fresh foods!

I don't watch TV news anymore, but in the past I remember NBC was known for promoting and highlighting wheat products. (They all do, but NBC more than the others I remember.) Many of their sponsors were in that business. So of any of the TV channels and comedians to have a commercial along these lines poking fun at those eating gluten free, this is it.

Saw Doritos had a commercial poking fun at IBS. It was kind of cute I thought.
