Hi Polly. 'fraid the cleanout is just the same. Might call it by a different name (Glycoprep) but it does the same thing & is just as horrible. The one that I had (P-something or other) before my op was worse though. I vomited or dry reached all the way to the hospital with dreadfil pain in my stomache. That is why my GI put me in hospital a year ago for my last one. Only trouble is that in the hospital they brought it to mr warm which was even more horrible. I gagged my way through most of it. The rest is a dream now to what is was 30 years ago. They used to give you a
valium injestion just so you could not run away & you felt everything. I cried my heart out when I was told I was to have a third or fourth one. Not a nice experience at all. So glad that yours is over with no mishaps. Have had the last few in hospital with much the same treatment as you had but Robert's GI does them in a small surgery in the clinic. Don't like that idea at all. Better be at the hospital just in case there are problems, as there can be.
Love
Liz

Hi Liz,
They do sound the same. The "P" thing is probably Phospho-soda. I have several friends who had stories like yours after taking it. That's the main reason I opted for the Go-lytely.
Let us know when you are scheduled so we can empathize!
Love,
Polly

Blessed are they who can laugh at themselves, for they shall never cease to be amused.
