Hello Gabes and All!
I am paging Gabes because I consider her to be the resident expert here on constipation! Last summer when I had a go-round with constipation, Gabes' advice was most helpful. Although D is usually the highlight of MC, some have mainly C, and most of us will at least have episodes of C at times due to the fact that we don't have normal gut motility regulation. And there is no question that C can cause even more suffering than D.
Gabes, I am wondering if you have ever heard of this: "perineal self-acupuncture". This is an East-meets-West technique where you press on the perineum (the area between the anus and the genitals) with your middle and index fingers, pushing up towards your back in repeated pulses right before you attempt to defecate. In a recent UCLA study, 72% of people with chronic constipation who used the technique for 4 weeks reported it helped them avoid or better manage the effects of C. Also, 54% that it helped them to avoid or reduce the severity of hemorrhoids related to C.

When I was in Toowoomba, my GI had a treatment chair for incontinence/constipation.
Pulse treatment into the area you are describing. It helped bowel and bladder.
I did them and it definitely helped my bladder.

And I know there is a acupuncture needle point in that perinenum area, as I have seen it on the diagrams at my acupuncturist.
So makes sense to me...
