Paging Leah

Post by Polly »

Hi Leah!

I read on a thread that you are now post-surgery and doing well (walking 1 1/2 mi. is impressive)! Congrats! Isn't it super to have it over with? Did you post a note about your surgery? If so, I missed it. Was the fibroid as big as they had thought? How did your tummy cope with everything? I would guess you were on antibiotics........hope they didn't upset the apple cart. Did you feel any immediate relief with the fibroid gone?

Best wishes for a continued quick and uncomplicated recovery!

Love,

Polly

Leah,

I saw where you did well with your surgery and had walked 1 1/2 miles.
That's such good news, continued prayers for you.

Leah,

I have been wondering about you, too! I must have missed the post after your surgery, also.

How are you feeling by now?

You all warm my heart :) The actual surgery day ( last Wed.) was somewhat of a nightmare. it took three hours longer than it should have. Besides the big fibroid, I had four more that were golf ball size. I didn't get home until 11:30 because I also had a bad reaction to the anesthesia. I think they gave me intravenous antibiotics, but no oral. My gut has been so so. I went three times today, but not D. Food seems to "get stuck" near my sternum…. especially if I eat a regular sized meal. On the bright side, I started walking the third day after surgery… a little more each day. Today, I did 2 miles. What's weird, is that almost each early evening, I run a low grade fever????? My Doc had me do a couple lab tests today ( urine and blood), but I just don't know what's going on. I don't think it is serious though. Did I get immediate relief? Well, my stomach area went flat right away. That felt weird… and good. Now that my ovaries are gone, the hot flashes have started ( eye roll) again.

Thank you for checking in on me. I think I will go back to work for a couple hours each day starting next Tuesday.

Sending good wishes your way. Had fibroid the size of a football and weighing 8 pounds and had it removed over 15 years ago. Never the same system wise after it. Possibly added trigger to this disease.

You are in my prayers - envy your walking schedule.

Love, Maggie
