Diarrhea worse when moving around?

Post by Sue777 »

If I'm sitting at my desk or on the couch at home, I can often sit for hours without having to jump up and run to the bathroom. But if I get up to get something or do a chore, the gurgling and cramping starts and I have to detour myself to the bathroom fairly urgently.

Is that indicative of anything? In the past when I have had flare-ups (and during my first diagnosis) it didn't matter if I were laying, sitting or walking - the urgency was there all the time. During this current flare, it seems calm as long as I'm stationary.

Diagnosed November 2004, Used Asacol and Lialda, sometimes worked, sometimes made it worse. Entocort always works but hate it. Remission only lasts 3-6 months and then back on Entocort. Enterolab test July 2017, now gluten free. Time will tell!

I can relate, Sue. I can tell that I'm healing a bit, bc my frequency is less than at the worst, when I was diagnosed a few months ago. When I get busy and moving around, the gurgling and trips to the loo increase. It happened today while cooking and cleaning, compared to earlier in the day watching tv and reading. Morning was a bit frequent though, as usual. But I need to keep moving, regardless of my symptoms. Can't let this thing slow me down!
