Oxalates
Tex, maybe this is why I can't tolerate smoothies.....as you may recall, I have been trying for years!
The joint pain in my hands is increasing (as well as chronic fatigue symptoms)...and I have ACAT & CBS gene polymorphisms.....which may be another piece to my large puzzle.....
I'm getting tested for oxalates & sulfur this week.
Interesting reading.....

Hi Linda,
That's certainly possible. We've discussed problems with oxalates in the past. But while most people tend to think of vegetable greens as the main source of oxalates (and they are, or course), significant amounts of oxalates can also be found in beets, strawberries, nuts, chocolate, tea, wheat bran, all dry beans, and green beans.
This old thread for example is from 9 years ago (but there are more recent threads, also). The reference that I linked to in my first post in this old thread is no longer available, unfortunately.

Be sure that your B-12 level is in the upper part of the normal range, because a B-12 deficiency can cause such symptoms (hand pains), also.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
You're most welcome. It appears that some additional B-12 might help, otherwise your results look good. And remember that for those of us who have methylation issues, even if we have a normal level of B-12 in the blood, that doesn't mean that it is getting to the cells.
