That doesn't take you to the right page. You still have to do a search, using the keyword, swash, or bidet.

P S Hint: It's a bidet

Just the ticket. I was thinking of installing a bidet when I did up my bathroom a couple of years ago but decided not to as it would have had to be a seperate unit I think. this looks ideal, I wonder if they are available in Australia to fit our brands?

Hi grannyh,

No, I don't have one but have always wanted one. Ever since I used one in a European hotel years ago. I would think it would be wonderful for anyone with MC to have one - definitely a boon for hygiene, if you know what I mean.

Love,

Polly

Thanks Wayne, you are amazing. You know more about what is available in Australia than I do. Had a look & that Scott Cam is on a couple of makeover TV shows. Must have a look at them. There is one place that has them about an hour north of here, much easier than going to Brisbane.

Love

Hi!

Would love to have one of these for Mom, even though it would be rather difficult for her to use one of our toilets as toilet she could use would be too low to be practical.

If I removed the lid of one of those elevated seat thingies that you put over the regular commode seat, then I'd have to be sure that the new gizmo's lid would fit where the elvated thing's lid fit as well as that the "T" connector thingie that comes with the set would be able to reach a little further, due to the elevation of the thing with the raised seat, making the distance down under the tank quite a bit further. It is possible for me to lift Mom from one of these older, low seats, but it's difficult. At least I keep her knees in good range of motion via exercise as that takes a bit of bending to sit on a low commode.

Would take a while to pay for itself in terms of T.P. one wouldn't have to buy, wouldn't it?!

Oh, in case you're wondering, she now uses a bedside commode. (Didn't want you thinking I took her out behind a bush in the back yard or something. Haha!

Actually, at the time she will really need one of these (if she gets incontinent of stool), it will probably be impossible to take her in the bathroom at all. Would be difficult now anyway.

Have a cheaper idea for you guys. Will make a separate post in a minute.

Thanks, grannyh, this was a good idea for this group.

Yours, Luce

Having a commode is a great boon when you have someone in that situation Lucy. I know how handy it was with my Mother here, especially when she was really ill. I even got her to use it always at night so that she wouldn't need to go wandering around the house on her own in the dark.
