Judy - that is amazing since you are relatively new here. Great work and congratulations to you!
Sonja - in time you too will meet "Norman." This journey tries our patience, but it does pay off.

Thanks Tex and Paula. My recovery was much quicker during the summer when my flare was much milder. I truly thought this one would take much longer. I'm still being careful not to add foods back too quickly and already know I need to watch fiber still. But it's coming. This site has been so beneficial. I sing its praises to everyone I know who suffers from auto-immune problems.

oh NORMAN!!
Ha I get it! I met him too a few weeks back... once. sigh He apparently went to the wrong house and has not returned yet. I'm looking for him still. I'll find him. GF for 2 months but still learning how to do this. I'm happy for you though! Congrats.
4 to 6 months is common, and it takes some of us even longer — it took me a year and a half for example, because I had been sick for a long time and I had a lot of food sensitivities. It took me a year and a half to figure out all the foods that I needed to avoid, but when I finally got my diet corrected, I got my life back.Judy wrote:It took 4 months for me this time, and Nowman is still hanging around. :) Don't give up!
Tex
It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
Congrats Paula :-)
With any luck I will be where you are now by my birthday in August or before Halloween this year. I can't wait to get my food sensitivity tests here soon so I can begin getting my life back too. I've been GF for one month and DF for 2 years....can't wait for Norman to visit me too!
Love this site
Thanks for such an encouraging post

Tam,
For gut healing nutrient filled bone broth, a joint type piece is ideal, neck is a good second best.
Lamb shanks make an awesome bone broth. They are not available everywhere in the USA. You might have to source a specialist butcher/distributer.
An osso buco cut of lamb or beef works ok
Depending on what meats are readily available nearby to you... using frame /wings of game birds would work well, Or shank /necks of other animals.
