Happy Sunday everyone!!
I noticed on a similar post that Tex mentioned that taking Immodium could help with frequency and "retrain" your bowels. Can Immodium really do that? I'm still not back on track after coming down with a stomach bug about 2 wks ago and even with the Entocort, I still find that I'm still having the gnawing urge of frequency in the morning that pretty much lasts all day! In all my life, I can't remember having this type of urgency in the morning. I even feel it before I step foot out of bed! My doctor recommended taking Immodium twice a day for it. My question is...do I need to take it that much? For how long and will it really help get my bowels back on the "normal" track if there is such a thing?

You can always give it a whirl. I had a BAD flare-up Saturday morning. I maxed the dose of immodium in about 10 minutes flat. For me, a flare-up just has to run its course. Sometimes the immodium will slow things down and give my butt a little bit of a break and other times it does nothing. However, I never tried taking it preflare as a maintenance drug. Good luck. The only negative consequence is that the immodium might back you up (as it does for me).[/list]
