Beverly,

Good question! :headscratch: It's not the computer that should be shut down, only the browser should be closed. If the computer is shut down or rebooted but the browser is not closed first, then it won't work, because the browser will preserve the old cookie. If a default username and password entry showed up when you went to this site, then your browser is still storing that same old cookie, and it's probably a corrupt cookie. What browser are you using? IE? Firefox? Or something else?

I'm using IE, should be the latest version because this was a new laptop Jan 2014. I just tried it again, got off internet and Windows Live Mail just to make sure (only desktop showed) but when I got on this site and started putting a b for bevfromwa in it autocompleted it complete with password.

I have an expression that I've been known to use from time to time--computers are mean!

I'm also having a problem with vitacost site, when I bring up a supplement I can't get the Product Details to open, only the Supplement Facts which doesn't show details like how many mg and other ingredients, rather important for all of us. I called to ask and they said they can open it on their computer. I cleared all cookies, made sure my settings are default, don't know what's going on.

Thanks, Beverly

I use Firefox, so the only version of IE on this computer is 8.0. The options for browsing should still apply for the later versions, though.

Under Internet Options, the General Tab, in the browsing history section, be sure the box is checked to "Delete browsing history on exit". If you click on the "Delete" button, it should show you a list of the things that will be deleted, and the "Cookies" box should be checked (among others). With those selections, it should delete all cookies every time you close IE, and auto-fill information should be eliminated.

When you go to the Vitacost site, and look for product details, is there a yellow toolbar below all the other toolbars at the top of the page? There should be one visible with boxes offering navigation options for proceeding (to override built in firewalls in IE).
