A Kansas mother who uses marijuana to treat a debilitating disease is now fighting for custody of her child after the 11-year-old boy disagreed with an anti-drug presentation at his school.

Shona Banda, 37, who published a book about how she uses a liquid form of cannabis as therapy for Crohn's disease, has a custody hearing Monday in Garden City, Kansas.

Her boy was taken by authorities on March 24 after officials at his school reported comments he made about marijuana to child protection services.

I'm hoping to get access to cannabis oil. A fellow Dermatomyositis patient literally erased the stubborn rash on his face with three days of applying cannabis oil mixed with coconut oil. Ours is one of the toughest rashes to treat in modern medicine!!

I have a dear friend moving to Colorado at the end of this month to get oil for her daughter who has had seizures EVERY DAY for 22 years. It's absolutely ridiculous she has to do this! I sure hope you get access and it helps Z!

The idiots in the Florida legislature all belong to the same party and can't even get along with one another. They have been messing around with medical marijuana for a couple of years and have concluded nothing. A friend's grand-daughter has severe seizures many times a day that will eventually destroy her chance for a normal life. She is 18 months old. Her only option is medical marijuana. God save us from the idiots running the government.

My mom brought be a marijuana muscle rub from Guatemala not realizing it would be illegal here!! It's a good thing they didn't catch it in Customs!! It's sold on the black market here:

I applied it to my rash but didn't notice much. I doubt the marijuana component is very strong.

It has proved helpful with so many ailments. I hope you get it, Z. Very interesting to apply topically. Ridiculous that all these states are arguing about it and not legal everywhere, and even when legal for medicinal purposes, still can be very difficult to get, and with restricted uses and not all strains available everywhere.
