Need Suggestions

Post by annie oakley »

I have a little Chihuaha that has a bladder and aim problem. She uses the puppy training pads I put down when I leave. But sometimes she misses the pad....that I can live with. My problem is this....I have tried dozens of sprays and powders to eliminate the residue odor even after I scrub and dis-infect the Area. Have any of you pet owners tried anything with great success? I can't spank her for trying and missing...so I need to find a cleaner. I have tried...Most of the dog de-odorizers and baking soda based powders. I tried that orange stuff and basic green. So I am open to suggestions. Love Oma :dogrun: imageshack.us/my.php?image=jasmine9kz.jpg]Image[/URL]

Hi Oma,

Could you perhaps place something absorbent, and much bigger than the pad under these other pads, so that the "run off" wouldn't soak into the floor quite so badly?
Newspapers might even be adequate if you had a sufficient thickness of em.

Yours, Luce

I tried that Luce. It doesn't matter the width or size.....her aim is sometimes just plain off. Love Oma

Then she won't walk across the paper to get to the smaller pad?

(Oma, the insomnia must be getting to you again tonight!)

Have you tried Nature's Miracle? Both my kids have old/incontinent cats and they swear by it. I think it is available at pet stores. Is this little Jasmine?

I think I will try this stuff. I'm not sure she's incontinet as she is just a lousy aim. She uses the puppy pads but misses sometimes. Love Oma

I use Outright, it's an enzyme and eats the urine. It is great stuff!!! I usually give a bottle to friends that get a new puppy. It even got rid of cat urine from a male that sprayed my walls and got behind the wood work.

There are two kinds, one that is already mixed and a concentrate that you mix. I like both.

Love, Jean

Hi Oma

Nature's Miricle is the BEST! And buy a black light, so you can spot all the areas, and treat them.

I'm so glad you have a picture posted! You look so different than what I had pictured. I thought you were short! Love, Marsha

I know there are a lot of products on the market. Hope you find one of them that helps and the back light will help target the affected areas.

Lucky she's just a little chihuaha and not a rottweiler, so just little puddles.
I had a friend who had an old, incontinent poodle and she restricted her to one area (in her case the kitchen) and covered the whole area with plastic and then newspapers, which she could remove as soon as she came home. You can watch her when you're home and get her outside, but it's hard to just let them roam the whole house when you're away.
Hope she get the idea soon. It's always a hard time when they're puppies, but they are so cute, I think it's worth it.

Love - Momster

Another vote for Nature's Miracle. My daughter in law has two dogs I watch when they are away.. they always make sure I have a supply of Nature's Miracle. At first I was not using it right.. I just sprayed the area.. found out you have to cover the area with a plastic bag after you spray it...
