Deb, I haven't looked into the BRAT diet, but will research on it. I'm always looking for something new that will help. Thanks, Deb for the well wishes. I am doing very well, but still have issues at times for no apparent reason. Nothing major like when I first came to this forum. I've learned a lot here, and it has helped me tremendously. It's just a feeling I have, but I believe it's possible to reach remission and stay there (but I think I'll always have to respect the "Gods" of MC to maintain it.) I may find out over time that it's not a realistic goal, but at least I will be heading in the right direction unlike the avenues I was taking before I came to this forum. All I know is that I appreciate my entire life since coming here. I have so much to be grateful for. And... I get to go golfing if our weather in Wisconsin warms up and stays warm for more than one day in a row (lol).

You're enjoying your life, Deb, and it shows. Sending well wishes your way.

Paula :)

Hey humbird753,

Post by drdebc »

And speaking of hummingbirds, they have arrived at my home. Ruby throated, green ones and brownish ones. They are so beautiful but extremely territorial.

I have MC for over 30 years. It was first diagnosed in 2008. My greatest fear has always been that eventually I will be in a nursing home and have no control over it.

Like you, I am praying that I will remain in remission the rest of my life!

When it would come and go, like your experience, there was no rhyme or reason. Nothing I could pin it to. However, rice, apple sauce and unripe bananas helped me.

I ended Entocort the end of November, 2014. I was much better but not completely over it. Then I got the flu on Christmas. The emergency room MD put me on predisone as well as antibiotics and a codeine based cough syrup. Then a couple of weeks later, I had bursitis in my right elbow. It was drained and I received a cortisone shot in my elbow. I have been 90% symptom free since then. I attribute it to all of the cortisone.

I will be glad when more research is done on this condition. My hope is that we will then have a better "handle" on how to remain in remission.

Take care and keep smiling,
Deb

Deb - I will also be glad when more research is done on MC. It's unfortunate that most doctors are clueless when it comes to this.

BTW, thank you for letting me know the hummingbirds are on their way. Their arrival here in Wisconsin is a sure sign that spring is finally here.
