Theresa,

It is a tough choice. We have to micromanage everything that we put into our mouths. It's time consuming.

I have had success with Bulk Supplements. They are the supplement in powder form with no fillers. That has worked for me. I try to eat the right foods to give my body what it needs, but it is difficult to do with all the food sensitivities. When testing shows the lack of a nutrient, I do think it should be supplemented with a clean, non synthetic source, when it can be done.

I get overwhelmed with all the information that's out there on the web. It creates anxiety in me, and I have to walk away sometimes.

It seems that for every recommendation out there, there is also a counter recommendation out there!

I guess we just need to use our common sense and only consider articles that are based in a lot of fact and research.

Donna,
I use different sources like Seeking Health, Freeda, Thorne, Organic3, but the clean powders I get on Amazon from a place called, Bulk Supplements.
I have used the calcium citrate, Vitamin D, and Betaine HCL from Bulk Supplemets.

THE DAILY MAIL ARTICLE IS TOTALLY BOGUS

I am a pharmacist, age 74, with 50+ years of research and practical medical experience. Taking the RIGHT SUPPLEMENTS has been critical to my health and my family's health. For 74, my wife and I are in very good health. We rarely get sick, never get colds or flu, do not take the awful flu shots, and have high energy levels at all times. I credit much of this to a healthy diet and lots of THE RIGHT supplements. Here are the key ones we take:

Magnesium Asporotate, 200 mg, 2-3 capsules a day. Most folks in the U.S. are Magnesium-deficient. Look it up on the internet. Magnesium is CRITICAL to several functions of our bodies, like our hearts, muscles, brains, and on and on. Look up benefits of Magnesium on the internet. Most folks who die from Sudden Cardiac Death have very low magnesium levels in their heart muscle. Magnesium is CRITICAL for optimum electrical function in our hearts. Makes you hearts tick like a clock. And you will not get muscle cramping....ever, if you take in adequate amounts.

Vitamin D3. Once again, most folks are deficient. The optimum range for Vitamin D3 is 50-80 ng./ml of 25(OH)D. To get to this level you need to be out in the sunshine a lot. In the winter this is impossible. I take 8,000 I.U. daily year around of D3, and to get to the optimum level you need to take 35 I.U. per pound of your body weight. Never had the flu, while most of my neighbors this winter had severe flu in spite of the fact they had the worthless flu shots. D3 at the level of 50-80 assures us of a very strong immune system. Great for our hearts also, and our brains. Go to Dr. Mercola on the internet, or just enter "Benefits of Vitamin D" and you will get the real truth on its importance.

B-Complex and B12: Critical for health of our nervous systems. Once again, research on the internet.

In summary, our lousy diets and lousy foods (our soil has been depleted) necessitate the need for supplements at therapeutic levels. Do not believe those RDAs the government puts out. They are a JOKE. The ones I listed are the CRITICAL ones, but convince yourselves by researching on the internet. And Dr. Mercola's site is the among the best I have found. TO YOUR GOOD HEALTH MATT

Vitamin C. I take 4,500 mg per day, year around. Rather than me preaching, go to the internet and enter "Benefits of Vitamin C". Linus Pauling was not NUTS..in fact, he was a genius. But taking 100 mg per day is not going to do the job.

Linda, it is very time consuming to have to micromanage everything we put in our mouths, on our skin, our hair, etc. I find I focus on one area and then forget or overlook another area.

Matt, I appreciate your advise on these important supplements.
