oh, I like the reference to it being a C instead of a circle..even though I didn't see it at first, I do now.
noticed as well when enlarged that both the foundation name and slanted "C" are in bold print
didn't enlarge before sending in comments previously sorry Tex, my mistake, nice job! looks great.

Some people would like to see a microscope in the design. How about this example?
The problem is that I can't see a way to make it appear balanced. Without the mic, it's nicely balanced.
How about something like this?

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
Tex, I think the microscope is a "cute" aspect but not necessary to the design. It's more important to clearly state the name since that's what gets people to our website - the diagnosis from their doctor. I have always found "microscopic" to be a little misleading anyways - makes it sound so insignificant - when we know that its effects loom huge throughout our bodies.
Just some thoughts...

I prefer the design without the microscope. It's clean, clear, and professional-looking.
While "microscopic" is part of the name of the disease, I don't think how it is diagnosed is really pertinent to the reality of the disease. And we don't want to give the visual impression that the foundation is something to do with microscopes.
That's my two cents.

I think it's important to have the words, "Microscopic Colitis Foundation", spelled out rather than just the initials. We are a relatively unknown disease and "MCF" could be anything. I think the microscope is distracting when used with that logo.
On a letterhead, you could have the logo on one side and a microscope etc on the other side. Or you could have descriptive words and the microscope on the other side of the letterhead or business card, "Not just poop", as a silly example
Too bad our potty people logo is undignified. It is perfect for this forum and I hope we never lose our sense of humor about this crappy disease.

To get something you never had, you have to do something you never did.

I agree with the majority opinion here. We can't possibly symbolize all the diagnostic or treatment criteria involved with MC in our logo, so how would we choose which parts to include? The purpose of a logo is to provide a simple, unique image that captures the viewer's attention and allows them to quickly identify the entity with which the logo is attached. IOW, IMO we want our logo to say, "This is the Microscopic Colitis Foundation", nothing more, nothing less. Am I wrong?
And I kinda like the way that this one does that:

I don't mind the look of the 3 circles, but they intersect for a reason, and it should not simply be to connect the 3 words of the organization.
For example, for that type of graphic to be meaningful, one circle would say diet, the other medication, the other...I don't know, lifestyle, knowledge?
People have short attention spans and newer websites are very sparse, clean-looking with very little info. That said, I like the sideways circle option best.
