Question about Dr. Gerard Mullin

Post by nancyl »

I am wondering what you all think about Dr. Gerard Mullin. I have been getting pop-ups with what seems to be good information from him on FB. I did sign into his and that is why.

I was just reading an article about encapsulated peppermint oil and Iberogast and would like opinions regarding these. He says they are very good for IBS and my doctors said I do suffer from that as well as colitis.

I think Dr. Gerard Mullin is excellent. He wrote "The Inside Tract" which is a really great book for people with digestive health issues. He fully understands the autoimmunity angle. He is a Functional Medicine Guru/Gastroenterologist. I learned about Dr. Mullin from my Nutritionist who is also a Functional Medicine practitioner. When my diet changes didn't resolve my D issues, I pursued a consult with Johns Hopkins where Dr. Mullin practices. I am working with his colleague, Dr. Alyssa Parian, who is progressive, sharp, and very much in tune with all forms of testing and treatments including non-traditional. Dr. Parian routinely consults with Dr. Mullin who is greatly respected at Johns Hopkins and in the Functional Medicine and Gastroenterology fields.

Thank you so much for responding and happy to have found someone who has some knowledge about Dr. Mullin. How lucky that you live near enough and were able to see his colleague. I follow him on FB and he has a lot of wonderful information. I think I will pick up one of his books. Is there one that you would recommend. I am doing pretty well, but am on Imuran.

I've only read, "The Inside Tract" but I think it's great and worth a read.
