A Logo For The Microscopic Ciolitis Foundation

I think the simpler the better and I prefer your original mock ups Tex with the side circle. Just because "microscope" is included as the name it doesn't mean you have to include it in the design - the Foundation's title says exactly what it is and any design should just complement the Foundation's name. When I've looked at new logo ideas in the past, I've found it helps to imagine the mock ups on various platforms like websites, social media thumbnails, apps, t-shirts, flyers etc....This disease is far too complicated to try and visualize in a logo which may end up being scaled down to 80 pixels and therefore difficult to interpret. A simple, non cluttered design always wins for me!

The three circles remind me of a Hazmat sign...but then we are kinda hazardous in our own way aren't we ;-)
I liked the sweeping side circle too....just a little Star Treky, feels unique an modern. IMO

Well, the Microscopic Colitis Foundation was officially formed when the Articles of Incorporation were filed with the Texas Secretary of State on April 24, 2015. We still have to file for tax-exempt status with the IRS, and we're working on that. We're also working on a website. There are a lot of bureaucratic hoops that have to be jumped through, so it's impossible to predict when we will be "up and running", so to speak, because everything takes time, but we're making progress.

The Articles of Incorporation list the purpose of the organization as:

The specific purposes of the corporation are to promote increased public awareness of microscopic colitis, provide educational information and support for patients, caregivers, and medical professionals, promote increased awareness that the disease can be effectively treated by diet changes in addition to medications, and encourage research projects that will benefit victims of the disease.

I hope for a smooth transition for this organization to be present on the internet in a more professional public way so Drs. can get a better glimpse to the issues that surround MS, LC, CC, etc...

This site has been a treasure trove to a whole different way I needed to think about what was going on with me. I look forward to the Foundation being presented to a wider audience soon.

HI Tex, and all--- I have been MIA for a couple of months because I have resigned my job, am semi-retiring, my husband got a new job in Kansas City, we have our house up for sale by owner (it's like having another job), I am finishing up the school year, holding a garage sale, rented a condo in Kansas City last weekend and finished training to become a Clinical Research Coordinator.

Seeing this foundation post REALLY makes me happy. Tex you are truly amazing in your vision, drive and devotion. This is an exciting development. I'll make sure I'm not MIA so much any more.

You're semi-retiring? It sounds as though you're busier than a one armed wall paper hanger with the crabs. Your energy level, and your willingness to tackle a heck of a lot of hard work coming at you from all directions seem to be unlimited. Good for you. You're an inspiration.

Thanks Tex, Things are slightly more systematic than they sound. I really did plan all this-- it's just that I am in the thick of it now.
Being in remission is worth every effort and every sacrifice I've made for the 3 years prior to it. I've even been able to add a little dairy (like a sprinkle of shredded cheese) back into my diet. I really can't complain considering how sick I was when LC hit me. I'm thankful for the advice and guidance I received here. It has made all the difference.
