Blood Work Results

Post by Trigger2298 »

Hi all got my resulsts back...was hoping for a little feedback if anybody is willing would be greatly appreciated :)

few things that stand out...

Not sure what this high means.. i do eat a high pretty fatty meat protein diet. low carb under 40 grams.. could that influence the numbers?

Bun/creatinine Ratio 33 - 7 - 25 H

Bun 22 10 - 20 mg/dL H

Lipid panel I ate all fast food junk for 5 yrs straight before last yrs blood work and was shocked to see normal numbers.. now im kinna shocked to see such not so normal numbers this yr after a clean diet but i do eat lots of fatty protien.

Cholesterol (122 last yr) 222 100 - 200 mg/dL H

Calculated Ldl (73 last yr) 151 <130 mg/dL - <130>39 mg/dL - >39 mg/dL

Triglyceride 59 <150 mg/dL - <150 mg/dL

Calculated Non Hdl 163

Chol/hdl 3.8 <4.5 - <4.5

AUTO HEMOGRAM/PLATE/DIFF

Absolute Eos 0.0 0.1 - 0.5 K/mcL L

surprised to see such a big difference comparing last yrs and this yrs the Wbc and Rbc... any red flags there i should be aware of?
Wbc 4.8 (was 9.8 last yr) 4.2 - 11.0 K/mcL

Rbc 4.66 (was 5.21 last yr) 4.50 - 5.90 mil/mcL

Plt 134 140 - 450 K/mcL L

Thanks sooooo much ya'll and happy tgif! its my work monday though lol!

The fact that both your BUN and BUN/Creatinine ratio are elevated suggests either dehydration or hypoperfusion. Unless you are aware of any circulatory issues, the problem is very likely to be dehydration.

Cholesterol level is not so much dependent on diet as genetics. IOW, diet can have a relatively minor effect, but overall cholesterol levels are pretty much determined by genetics (and by gut architecture). The reason why I added gut architecture is because when part of my terminal ileum was removed (along with my colon and cecum), that lowered my cholesterol level significantly. This is because unused bile salts are absorbed in the terminal ileum and recycled to make cholesterol to supply the body's needs. Obviously I am unable to recycle unused bile as effectively as I could previously.

Cholesterol is essential for many vital needs of the body. For example, a derivative of cholesterol in the skin is utilized to produce vitamin D when exposed to sunlight. This is sheer speculation on my part (because it has never been researched, that I'm aware of), but your cholesterol level might be increased from last year because your vitamin D level has crashed and burned, and your body knows that it desperately needs more vitamin D, and so it is doing everything it can to enhance the production of vitamin D. But as I said, that's just a WAEG.

Regarding the changes in your CBC, your WBC is probably lower because your inflammation level is lower now.

Your RBC is fine.

Low platelet count can be caused by a vitamin D deficiency. Vitamin C can also help to raise platelet count, but be aware that many of us have trouble tolerating citric acid when we are still recovering. If you are having bleeding issues, vitamin K2 can improve blood clotting, but it typically won't raise platelet counts.

And remember that all of these observations are only my strictly unprofessional opinion — I'm not a doctor.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.

Good afternoon Tex! And thanks so so dangmuch for helping me out so fast... You're such an amazingly generous men that goes mountains above and beyond one could ever ask for to help us in our times of need no matter when we need it.. You really are a kind and inspiring man with such a unbelievable amount of intelligence that I just idol you.

I unfortunately don't have but a few mins before work so i can't address and respond to your message with much depth as I'm a very slow typer, etc.

For the Bun.. I probably should drink more water..specially since we probably don't absorb it well or lose it easily in our frequent bm's? not sure of any circulatory issues.. I do feel I sometimes get chilled easier than I used to.. i dunno.

I'll have to talk to parents and see if high cholesterol runs in family.. but i do know my moms just came back also and it was elevated around 227.. I do know my dad suffers from it to. his diet needs a lot of cleanup though.

so glad to hear from you that i shouldn't worry about the changes in wbc and red.. and maybe with a little luck its a sign of less inflammation from last yr :)

My vitamin D was 6.6 i think last yr.. that's the one that had me scared last yr.. to be honest i was going through severe depression for 5+ yrs and i would say i was inside home bound for 99[+% of that time... no exaggeration..almost never left the house. to top it off I lived in a house that was infested in black mold from the ceiling leaking every time it rained or snowed and melted in multiple locations over that time.. It was terrible but i was to far gone to reach out for help.. Oh and i also smoked and drank for the last 10 yrs very heavily at times.. Yikes what a mess..

Anyways my vitamin d number now is 38.. so nice jump (work to do yet though) and hopefully the damage to the body of it being low the last 5 yrs wasn't to critical.

I have to get to work now but I'll try and get back on here later tonight when i get home.. If you or anybody else has anything to add or wants me to share any other parts of the lab work puzzle I would be more than happy to hear and add labe work.

Thanks SO MUCH again and happy TGIF
