Magnesium Advice?

Post by jlbattin »

I realize that I have a very new diagnosis of my cc and am in the first week of my elimination diet. However, I have been having some leg cramps at night and am thinking I need some magnesium. I read Gabes thread of posts and I'm still unclear on what might be best: I'm thinking the oil or the lotion? Preferences? Brand?

Other ideas?

Thanks.
Jari

Hi, Jari. I use magnesium gel that I buy on Vitacost. I'm not sure of the name. I rub it on my thighs when I go to bed and it has stopped the foot cramps that I was experiencing. When I first used it I put it on the bottom of my feet but it really dried my feet out. It works great on my thighs. It helps me sleep better, too.

I have been using Vitacost's LifeFlo Mag spray, very affordable. I believe Gabes referred to it on one of her posts somewhere. I spray 4-5 sprays on my arms, and calves. It has a tendency to tingle on my skin for some reason but I leave it there for 10-20 minutes and then wipe it off.

I also take a supplement of Mag Threonate (now that I am into my healing for 3 months). Just another option to consider.
Cheers

as I am in Aus, i have different brands here. I am not fully aware of all the brands based in USA. so the feedback on the previous discussions is your best option.

as has been mentioned, it can sting a little. Using it on upper legs, stomach, shoulders doesnt cause stinging for me.
I have multiple spray bottles, one by the bed, one with me at work, one near the toilet. this makes it easier to do frequent doses.
I spray all over first up in the morning, and then through the day spray stomach / neck and shoulders

this frequent spraying gives me about 400-500mg Elemental Magnesium per day...
