Complete Abdomen Sonogram
I went in this morning for a complete abdomen sonogram. After the CC diagnosis two weeks ago, my GI wanted to check that nothing else was wrong. Wow was every spot she touched this morning sore. I'm guessing the autoimmune disease and all the inflammation, but I had no idea how sore I really was until she started poking around (and it wasn't even a hard poke). I'm assuming this is normal and that when I get the inflammation under control and start healing, the soreness will go away. She did tell me that if anything was wrong that the radiologist sends to my doctor immediately so if I didn't hear from my doctor today, there was probably nothing to worry about. Am praying not to hear from him today. I don't think I can take one more thing right now!

I had a sonogram of the abdomen in fall last year and again one in spring this year (both times only the right upper quadrant). The poking was uncomfortable to painful, especially the one in fall last year when I had a lot of aches and pains everywhere, and in particular on the right side of my abdomen (about the time of my diagnosis of LC). Everything looked completely fine in the ultrasound, though. Try not to worry!

Patricia,
Thanks for the kind words. This disease can just be so overwhelming and scary and just when I think I've got it together, I lose it again. So many aches and pains that I'm just not used to. Need to get a handle on it. Patience is not one of my strengths! :)

Jari,
Please don't feel like the Lone Ranger. When I was reacting, I used to say (only half-jokingly) that even my hair hurt. This disease really knows how to get our attention when it wants to. Fortunately, all that pain and discomfort fades away as we begin to heal.
It's very unlikely that your doctor will call today.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
Same thing happened to me and all of my imaging came back fine.
My left side was the worst for some reason. My abdomen and ribs hurt with even small amounts of pressure. This was one of the last symptoms to go away. It finally stopped completely about 4 months ago (more than a year after diagnosis).
Thinking positive thoughts for you! Try not to jump every time the phone rings.

I am just so thankful to have found this board. Thanks for the encouraging words because as you all know, many days it feels like it's just me against the world! But I know I can come here and find friends who have lived through it or who are going through it with me, and that loneliness melts away. I've just been cooped up too long. I must start getting out a little more and I know that will really help my attitude!
