3 steps - chaos
Well if there was ever a gold medal for MC mud mess – i think i just earnt it
5 days of mega doses of astragalix/olive leaf to try and rid the coughing virus finally hit
Happened to be the moment when I needed new roll of toilet paper, 3 steps away... that 3 steps created CHAOS
Long story short - MC Mud everywhere on the bathroom floor!!
The major loss in the chaos was my beloved Yoda Slippers (gift from Polly and Joe...)
RIP Yoda Slippers
Killed by MC Mud ..
4 years I have had the Yoda force by my side.... how does one face the day now....
The mud was an interesting colour thanks to SB Boullardi and the mega doses of astragalix and olive leaf.
It had been a tough week with extreme coughing fits, bruised ribs, and bladder leakage. So this event was the icing on the cake
And I now have to deal with the loss of my yoda slippers...
Polly/Jean and other Pema fans – i know I know in the words of pema chodron – Impermanence. A constant reminder that nothing stays the same and we have to move on...
As I did the clean up it was the main word that came to mind!!!

What a bummer, but so . . . classic MC.Gabes wrote:Happened to be the moment when I needed new roll of toilet paper, 3 steps away... that 3 steps created CHAOS
It just dawned on me, but maybe you were already aware of this — astragalix is a legume.
I hope you can get everything back under control soon. I'm sure it will take quite a while to get over the loss of those "Yodas".

in the early stages of MC, i tried many types of probiotics (i have a friend who is a naturopath so was able to get samples at no cost)
we tried single strain, and various other combo's of practitioner range only variants - none of them worked for me
down the track, bit of healing, magnesium deficiency fixed, excess histamine no longer an issue and the S-boullardi worked great!
my observations of the many people here, when the gut is inflammed probiotics are not tolerated well, with stable eating plan and minimal inflammation many see good benefit

I was taking BioMedica SB Pro (Saccharomyces cerevisiae) for awhile and it didn't seem to do too much good but didn't do any harm either. And then I read that the best strain of this is in another brand. So I ordered that brand from Germany (Perenterol forte Saccharomyces - cerevisiae). Just days after taking that brand I got brand new symptoms of stomach churning and grumbling.

Linda,
Those symptoms are rather common with MC, but if you want to get rid of the yeast overgrowth, start using coconut oil (to cook with, or however you choose to use it). It will kill a yeast overgrowth if you stick with it.

Thank you Tex! I am definitely going to use the coconut oil. I will go out today and buy some. I don't think the probiotics are agreeing with me either. They seem to make my stomach churn as well. The integrative doctor had me on betaine hydrochloride acid and that didn't agree with either.
It's hard to know if something is disagreeing with you or if it is just this disease getting worse. When this first started (after antibiotics) the symptoms were not too bad and quite easy to live with even though things were not right. Then about two and a half years later symptoms got much worse. Thankfully cramping stopped when I stopped eating raw food.
Then just over a month ago I was diagnosed with MC. Is it normal to have this progression of symptoms?
Sorry for all the questions.

i think progression of symptoms is fairly common, it is what was happened to me.
as i kept consuming triggers (fibre, sugar, soy etc) the inflammation was getting worse.
It is how most AI issues present themselves.
the best plan is to remove all known/common triggers, stick to a bland easy to digest, low inflammation eating plan, stabilise the symptoms. (use meds that work)
when there is stability with symptoms, trial things one at a time.
if you try to many things at once or swap and change what you are doing, it makes it difficult to figure out what is working and what isnt.
that is why we recommend the bland, low amount of ingredients, no supplements. Start from a safe base and go slowly.

I think all that sounds an excellent idea Gabes
You have got me right, I have been trying different things and searching for answers. Even with food I have been cutting out food but not for long enough. I have taken off 25kg in the last year and I don't know if that is from cutting out food or from the disease.
At least now I have a diagnosis. And I am getting a plan. And I have this site which is great. You and Tex have been so helpful.
As far as supplements I am assuming that Vit D is the exception.
Thanks again

Correct Vit D and magnesium spray are the exceptions
nothing wrong with researching and trying things - you are trying to get better! you want to get better.
and thats why we are here, to help people, get the right MC management plan in place that suits them and 'get their life back'
