Ive been well to date as long as I stick to MY diet. Tuesday night 1:30am I woke up with pain in my right shoulder blade and under my right rib cage with tenderness to palpitate. Diarrhea and vomiting included . The episode lasted about 3hrs leaving me exhausted and I fell asleep in my lazyboy with a heating pad. I ate as normal today with no ill effects other than being tired.
Have any of you experienced this and what were your symptoms and treatment?

I am thankful for my struggle because without it I wouldn't have stumbled across my strength.

Hi Heady,
It's good to see a post from you, and to learn that your diet changes continue to control your MC, but I'm sorry that you might be having a suspected gallbladder problem. I can't recall ever having that happen to me, at least not since I've been in remission. If it happened while I was still reacting, I probably wouldn't have even noticed the difference.
It's odd that you wouldn't have additional symptoms after eating, but I suppose it could be an atypical case.
Hopefully it will turn out to be a single, isolated event.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.

Hi Heady, Nice to see your smiling face.
My gall bladder attacks were always mid-chest, felt as if I was being constricted around my chest. The worst attack had me thinking I was having a heart attack and subsequent attacks were less severe but similar. A CT scan will tell you if you have stones or sludge. I was told that if I had one gall bladder attack, I was sure to have more attacks and the doctor was correct. I had my gall bladder removed about 8 years before being diagnosed with MC.

My PCP suggested today that because the episode was short lived that It was possible I was passing a gall stone. I've gone back to keeping a food/symptom diary to keep track of my diabetic blood sugar, MC symptoms and food/water consumption. I had an ultrasound Nov.2012 that showed a thickening of the gall bladder wall with no stones and no attacks? If episodes increase or worsen I'll be going for ultrasound & an appointment with a surgeon. Worst case scenario I'll be in the ER. Glad the hospital is only 1mile from home.
