cooked fruit ok or better?
Hi
they keep telling Me To skip fruits and raw veggies.
I eat every morning coocked Apple and banana.
Is This ok? I am already strict on diet by going gf, sf, df.
If i cant eat My coocked fruit.. My diet Will get Too small and i Will fail and eat bad food again.
Is cooked fruit better then raw fruits??
Fruits are also Simple sugars.
It are monosachoroids.
They break Down easy in intestine.
It's NOT like It is complex refined Sugar.

Hi!
It's better to eat cooked fruits in the beginning, but it's the fructose and fiber in fruit that is difficult for us to digest. It causes gas & bloating, too.
If you peel the fruit and cook it, and eat small amounts you should be ok, though.
I did small amounts of banana, apple and a few blueberries for a long time.
Have you looked at the low FODMAP diet? It helps you choose the fruits that are better for us.

Yes, the sugar in fruits is mostly fructose, which is a monosaccharide. However, most of us are not able to digest fructose properly when our MC is active, because our ability to produce the enzymes necessary to digest fructose is compromised by the inflammation. Many fruits also contain sugar alcohols such as sorbitol. Sorbitol is not digestible, and it causes me to have diarrhea if I eat very much of it.kenvh wrote:It are monosachoroids.
It's OK to eat limited amounts of cooked fruits, as long as we don't eat too much of them. If we eat too much of them, our gut cannot heal. Bananas can be eaten raw. They are the only fruit that does not have to be cooked when our MC is active.

Ok. I see Tex.
I did every morning 3 cooked apples and 2 bananas as brackfest.
Too much for Me??
Apple sauce is ok they say.
3 cooked apples is the Same as applesauce.
And cooked banana is even softer for the gut?
Or should i stop the fruit mornings??
The only alternatieve i have then is gluten Free bread with meat.
Is This ok? It's based on Rice.

I'm not sure how to respond to that because many of us could not tolerate that much fiber and sugar for each meal. And how can your gut heal if you eat mostly fruit? Extra protein is necessary for healing the intestines. There is almost no protein in apples and bananas. They are only sugar and fiber. Why would that be a healthy breakfast?
Gluten-free bread is not much healthier. It is fiber and fat, with little protein. If you can tolerate it, it's OK, it's just not ideal. Are you sure you cannot eat other foods that most of us can eat, such as potatoes, sweet potatoes, corn, squash, green beans, broccoli?
We can live a healthy life on meat alone, for the rest of our life if necessary. as long as the meat contains plenty of fat. But we cannot survive on fruit alone, or any other food, by itself. Meat is the only complete food that contains all the amino acids necessary for human life.
Meat should be the main part of your diet while you are healing, because it is the most important part. The protein in meat is necessary to heal your intestines. After you are in remission, them you can go back to eating more fruits, if you want.

I eat bacon and eggs for breakfast, but I am not sensitive to either pork or eggs. What we eat depends on what is safe for us individually.
I disagree that fruits are the healthiest food on the planet. They are nothing but hard-to-digest sugar and fiber to a gut inflamed by MC. What's healthy about that? Fruits are fine, for people who can tolerate them, but we don't need sugar, and vegetables are a much healthier source of fiber and nutrients.
Many members here eat the same foods for every meal while they are recovering, or until they get their EnteroLab results so that they can see which foods are safe for them.

Ken, I drink Hemp protein mixed in almond milk for breakfast. That's enough for me and I don't get hungry until lunch time. Since I have LC protein is the name of the game. I didn't eat a lot of meat before, now I have it for lunch & dinner. I eat one banana daily and I can eat a smalled peeled apple without a problem. While I was reacting I didn't eat any fruit.
