Who is Considering Attending Dr. Fine's :toilet: Seminar?

Post by tex »

Hi All,

Since Luce asked in another thread about a head count, I'll start a thread here for that purpose.

Since Dallas is only about a hundred and twenty-five miles from where I hang my hat, (a mere stone's throw by Texas standards, LOL), I'll probably try to :driving: up for the Saturday session, if nothing serious turns up to interfere with my plans.

If you are considering attending, please indicate your intentions. This is just so any of us attending, can get an idea of who else might be there, it isn't chisled in stone. Thanks

Love,
Wayne

I'm considering it, however it happens to be scheduled at a time when I typically travel to Florida for some much needed warmth, sun, sand, water, and visit family. You can probably figure which way I'm leaning but I haven't made a decision.

It would be a great opportunity for any of us that are able to attend to make arrangements to meet and spend some time together. It looks like a pretty full schedule for the weekend.

Is it warm in Texas in March?

Love,
Joanna

Hi Joanna,

Corn planting begins about the middle of February, so yes, it's usually warm in Texas in March. Because of the drought, we've been running 10 to 15 degrees above normal, most days, over the past couple of months. If the trend doesn't change before then, we may see highs in the 90s by March, (normally the highs would be in the 70s and 80s).

Love,
Wayne

It is my intention to be their. That could change even at the last minute in that spring storms can brew some incredible blizzards between Denver and where I have to turn right in Kansas. I look forward to meeting Dr. Fine and everyone else that attends.

Hiya All!

I posted this response in another thread but will copy it here, too, for those who may not have seen it:

I know I have not yet said whether I am going. I would love to go more than ANYTHING (not just to meet Dr. Fine, but also to have the chance to meet Wayne, Matthew, Luce, etc.). Unfortunately, the time coincides with the major annual community fundraising weekend event that is sponsored by the Oregon Ridge Nature Center, of which I am a board member. I have many responsibilities for this event, both before and during the actual weekend activites. (Our event is always scheduled for the first weekend in March). I was SO disappointed when I saw the date for the conference. If I had had a little more lead time, I might have been able to more easily delegate some of my responsibilities. As it is, I am trying to do that now, but I don't know if I will be successful. Everyone already works so hard that I feel guilty piling my work on someone else. But I will keep trying.

Love,

Polly

If Mom has no fractures are serious injuries, and makes a speedy recovery, and my sister still wants to make the trip, we'd most likely arrive on Friday, and depart some time Sunday after we grabbed a bite to eat.

By the way, if we just pay for Saturday conference and meals, do you think that the chef could arrange for there to be the "allergen free" food like that served with the conference, in the regular dining areas where we could just go in there Friday and Sunday and purchase it ourselves before we leave for home?

Get to piling, Polly, it's just this ONE time already!
Anyway, I'd love to meet a bunch of you.

Hopefully, I'll know if all bets are off by sometime next week because if Mom's got a fracture or serious injury, that would eliminate any possibility of my going right there. Otherwise, it'll be a day at a time.

Yours, Luce
