Researchers at the University of Alberta have developed a pill using egg yolk antibodies that helps coat gluten, allowing it to pass from the body without doing any damage, the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC) reported.

I'm definitely keeping an eye on this!

Gabes, you are right on target. Roughly half of us are sensitive to eggs. That makes such a remedy based on eggs pretty much useless for at least half of us. My thoughts on that proposed product are posted here:

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.

Your article on the great MC society link really explains it well, I totally agree with it being another avenue for someone to cash in at the expense of our health, afterall it has been pointed out time and time again how little our disease gets respect, we don't know what the side effects will be or damage occuring on the inside while we think we are doing a safe thing by eating gluten again. not to mention the egg component involved in it too. As we all know since giving up gluten and all our offending foods we feel better, why would we even want to risk those side effects again. I know my last experience just a short time ago of being cross contaminated and so sick again with it taking a week to actually get feeling myself back to my normal post MC diagnosis, not worth it to me, either they are careful with my food or I don't choose to eat at that establishment. This disease is with me for life and so is my attention to protecting my body and what I can control that is going in. that might sound intense and ridiculous to some but I have one life to live and I want it to be the best I can do with the knowledge I have right now and continue to get through this fantastic forum. I thank you all for everyone's input into what works for them and what doesn't, it sure helps someone everyday, nobody knows how many lives are touched and helped made better with this information.. We have all been through alot. cheers to you all have a great weekend doing whatever you love and enjoy.
