That "ah ha" moment

Post by Marcia K »

Good morning. Tuna was a #3 for me with EnteroLab so I haven't eaten it since my testing last July. In its place I was eating salmon without realizing that some people who react to tuna also react to salmon. Tex mentioned it in a post a week or so ago but I didn't think that I was one of those people. Last week I ate a package of salmon for lunch that was only salmon and salt so I thought it was safe for me. Sometime after lunch my earlobe was itchy and red. I never thought I had histamine issues after I ate something, it always affected my stomach with either pain or D. And then the light bulb came on...it was most likely the salmon. I was a little bummed because packaged salmon was easy to carry along when traveling, etc. and now it's something else that I have to avoid. Every day is a new adventure in the land of eating with LC. Have a great day, everyone!

Marcia,

Thank you for sharing your insight. I find that mast cells are becoming more of a problem for me, also, as time goes on.

I'm noticing that mast cell is more of an issue as I am clearing the gluten...I'm not even trying to eat anything beyond my basic safe foods so that I don't add more histamine, I'm thinking I could use some Benadryl in the evening right now.
