Rice Chex
I've heard a lot of you mention that you eat Rice Chex. I thought maybe that was something I could eat a little of. But standing in the grocery store aisle reading the ingredients, I saw:
INGREDIENTS
Whole Grain Rice, Rice, Sugar, Salt, Molasses. Vitamin E (mixed tocopherols) and BHT Added to Preserve Freshness.Vitamins and Minerals: Calcium Carbonate, Iron and Zinc (mineral nutrients), Vitamin C (sodium ascorbate), A B Vitamin (niacinamide), Vitamin B6 (pyridoxine hydrochloride), Vitamin B2 (riboflavin), Vitamin B1 (thiamin mononitrate), Vitamin A (palmitate), A B Vitamin (folic acid), Vitamin B12, Vitamin D3.
Does that Vitamin E (mixed tocopherols) mean soy?

Just after I posted that question, I did a search on google. I ended up on an allergy support page and they were looking for soy free products. One lady said she had called General Mills that day and the Vitamin E source was from corn. That was a post from 2009. Do you think it would still be the same? I'll give them a call next week. Any of the rest of you with soy sensitivities been eating Rice Chex?

Would be interested in learning your results if you hear back from them. Rice Chex is my alternating food so I eat a decent amount of it every other day.

Good news! I emailed General Mills and ask if there was soy in the Rice Chex. This is the response I received:
Thank you for contacting General Mills with your inquiry. The Rice Chex Cereal does not contain any soy ingredients.
We hope you find this information helpful. Please let us know if we can help you again.

Oh, good--question?
I'm glad, because I also eat them. Breakfast ideas have been few for me/very nauseated in early a.m. And I'm at work by 6--any suggestions? Hard boiled eggs seem to be o.k. . .

Thanks, Jari. . .
Because of my lymphoma & nausea, I need to be cautious about the amount of meat I eat. I can barely brush my teeth in the a.m., so I know I couldn't eat meat in the morning.
Rice is one of the few things that doesn't make me nauseated :)

Whew! Chex is a regular part of my diet. Soy would be a problem.....
