I'm Back & Welcome to all New and Birthday Wishes to Mis
Hi Everyone,
Yep it is me! Retired on May 27th and it has been a roller coaster ride since. Frank took a series of mini strokes and the doctor had prescribed a sleeping med that completely sent him into LaLa Land. I had to call 911 and rush him to the hospital for a stay until they could stabilize him. I actually thought it was a major stroke but luckily it wasn't. He is getting back to normal but keeping a close eye on him. We are getting ready to go to the Outer Banks and had decided to stay a month instead of the usual 2 weeks. Hopefully, it will be a good rest for him.
Retirement is not all it is cracked up to be but I am sure it will improve. Next week training my old boss' new replacement - the original one did not work out. He said I am irreplaceable but not so.
Happy Birthday to all I missed and a big HELLO to new members. You really can benefit from a site that has seen everything there is with these diseases.
Needless to say with all that has gone on my CC has gone down hill but I am sure it will get better. Never remission for me but improvement would be great.
Hi Tex, Polly and all our originals.
Love and Miss You, Maggie

Hi Maggie,
I was wondering what in the world had happened, after not seeing a post from you in such a long time. It's good to hear that everything is back on an improving trend again.
I agree that a month's vacation should be good therapy. Enjoy.
Thank you for the update.
Love,
Tex

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.

Thanks so much Tex. Any support is needed.
Failed to say that in this time period Frank's son has gotten much worse and they tried to intervene and have him institutionalized. That did not go well and he is navigating the waters now without much support and getting worse each day. It is just a matter of time before the law gets him or he gets himself. Nothing more can be done by the family and he needs to stay with his meds or just continue to go down hill - he has already reached rock bottom.
Am definitely going to enjoy the Outer Banks therapy and leave all problems here at home.
Love, Maggie

Hi Maggie,
Congratulations on your retirement!!! It's so nice to see a post from you, although it sounds like you've had a plateful of problems to deal with. Sincerely hope that your vacation will be enjoyable and stress free.
I've always identified with your MC journey, as I'm in the same boat - no "remission" for me. However, I'm much better than I used to be, so I'm grateful for that.
Best of luck to you in your retirement and have a fabulous time in the Outer Banks!!!
Love,
Kari

Hi Maggie! So good to "hear" from you. Hope Frank will continue to improve. Sorry about his son. I bet you will have lots of migrating waterfowl, raptors, and songbirds on the outer banks. We'll be in Cape May in October watching the skies. You will get the hang of retirement when things settle down. I've been enjoying it for 10 years and haven't gotten the urge to go back to work at all!
