We are not alone in thinking that some foods cross reacts with gluten antibodies? Many in the paleo community like Chris Kresser belive stongly in tests from Cyrex labs like the Array 4.
Chris is known for being skeptical and doing alot of research, so I belive him.
More about the array 4

And Array 3

The test from Enterolabs are probably not better then those from Cyrex labs, if you should listen to
The Celiac Disease Center.
”The Celiac Disease Center does not recognize Enterolabs or Cyrex stool tests for cross-reactivity (or for CD for that matter). Simply, they are “not sensitive or specific enough” and just haven’t held water (yet) in the scientific arena. Maybe they will one day, but not today.”

But maybe they are still the best out there.

I don't have time this morning to debunk that BS again, but basically those guys are full of it. There is a "good old boys" club in American medicine, and they decide who gets published in medical journals, and who doesn't get published. Because of their undiagnosed form of terminal professional snobbery, they hate anyone who happens to be a GI specialist and who sells his services direct to the public on the Internet, and who has long hair, plays guitar, and writes and performs rock music. Dr. Fine has submitted his research for publication numerous times, but because of the reasons stated above, it will never be published.
This is just one more example among many problems with modern medicine. Medical politics sucks. Politics sneaks into everything, and usually spoils everything, when it does.
Thanks for the links.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
Hi Donna!
I take digestive enzymes and betaine HCl. I am waiting to hear from Enterolab as far as interpretation of these results. I believe the high scores I have on the new Enterolab test is understandable in light of a high fat malabsorption score.....so, it's either my pancrease or small intestine ( or both??), but I don't know enough about it yet.

Linda,
How about a different brand of digestive enzymes and or a higher level? I am still missing the connection to your other lab values, why would fat malabsorption cause a higher antibody level of those foods you have not eaten for several years. Did Enterolab give you an explanation for this occurrence?

Linda and Donna,
I may be looking at this wrong, but IMO a high malabsorption rate indicates that the small intestine is highly inflamed. And that would almost surely coincide with increased intestinal permeability. Increased intestinal permeability causes food sensitivities, because it allows partially-digested peptides to pass through the tight junctions. This implies that the immune system might possibly be producing antibodies to virtually any type of food (due to cross-reactivity).
Maybe Dr. Fine will disagree.

Polly,
Thank you!
So, how does one help ease inflammation of the small intestine? I thought that's what I've been doing all along....

I also thought you were. Obviously there's something dominant going on in such cases that we're not aware of.

Lab Concerns
Do you feel better after all the changes you have made? I just ordered the tests but now I'm wondering if I should do it?
