Hi
some maybe remember me and remember a little of my history.
I had 4 months ago a calprotectin test and had 107. (inflammation scale test in stool).
Now 4 months later I quit budesonide entocort and did another test after 3 weeks of cold turkey stop.
The result comes back negative <15.
I can say my symptoms have improved with this diet of u guys.
Also.. my colonscopy was also negative of MC. But they did only take 2 biopsies! this diagnose can be missed!
The fact is that i still have gurgling sometimes.
a lot of urgency in the morning and tenesmus overday.
tenesmus cant be something else then inflammation right??
My stool is not formed 100%, and some stools are mushy and broken in little pieces.
I dont feel normal at all yet!!
I dont understand this whole thing.
Is it possible that its Post Infectious syndrome after my campylobacter infection that triggered my problems?
I must say my symptoms are just the same as many here.
And i still had the positive inflammation test 4 weeks after onset of this disease.
also.. budesonide gave relief in 2 days!
They keep telling there is no inflammation. I just cant believe them!!
sometimes The inflammation switches of to my small intestine and goes higher!
when i get this kind of symptoms.. I have to stay in bed all day long! small intestine inflammation gives me nausea and a vommit feeling and unwell feeling.
Then it switches back to my lower gut.. then Im doing better, but still urgency in morning and tenesmus overday.
If I eat diffrent then u guys.. the extreme symptoms that are even worse return.
I just cant believe this isnt inflammation driven??
Calprotectin test false?? Tenesmus and other symptoms

Ken,
I agree that you obviously have (or did have) inflammation, and it is very likely caused by food sensitivities. You are correct that tenesmus is typically associated with inflammatory bowel issues. It can also be caused by cancer, but if you had cancer, that would have been detected when you had the colonoscopy.
The reduction in your calprotectin score is very likely due to your diet changes. Calprotection is a measure of inflammation. Remember that budesonide might reduce inflammation, but it cannot prevent inflammation from being regenerated. The diet changes can prevent inflammation from being produced in the first place, so it is not surprising that your calprotectin test result would be much lower after avoiding inflammatory foods for a while. I'm just guessing, but it's certainly possible that diet changes might reduce the calprotectin level much faster than using budesonide.
I had the same problems that you are having when I was reacting. Whenever my small intestine was highly inflamed, I had nausea and sometimes migraines, and I was often unable to work. When the problem was mostly in the colon, I still had D, but I was able to work.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
THX Tex.
Yes.. U can really feel the diffrence netwerk small and large intestine inflammation.
Small is the worst.. It shuts My Whole body Down.
I had Lower value then 15 in calprotectin! That would mean there is NO inflammation At All.
To Me.. Thats NOT possible. The symptoms point for Me To inflammation. It's f**king in My Head.
I stop going To doctors. They cant help is At All. Test is negative. Im Sure thats a wrong view of This point.
NO inflammation would mean NO symptoms for Me.
I Just hope the tenesmus gets better.
Tex.. I readed that charcoal can ease D and stop tenesmus. Do i really suck on charcoal or even eat It?

I've never been interested in charcoal treatments, but as I recall, they used to involve swallowing capsules that contained charcoal.
One reason why I've never been interested is because it's claimed that meat that's burned (too done) when cooked on a grill, causes cancer. If that's true, then swallowing charcoal should be at least a hundred times more dangerous.
