mucus in stools

Post by magriffe1 »

I often have vast quantities of mucus in my stools which are yellow and runny. Is this a common symptom? Does anyone know what causes this and also what I can do to stop this happening?
After many years of taking psychotropic medication I have developed type 2 diabetes and liver fibrosis. I have had long term gi problems, diagnosed as IBS, but since withdrawing from my medications have been diagnosed with mc.

I once discovered when turning and wanting to flush, that the toilet was full of mucus only. Like transparent jelly. It freaked me out.

This was 1 year ago. I knew that I had a lot of mucus, but that I could "deliver" only mucus, thinking it was poop... I'll never forget it.

After I changed my diet drastically, I had less and less mucus.

Mine stopped when I changed my diet and everything wasn't just running through me.

Hi, going Gluten, Dairy, Soy and Egg free will help to resolve those symptoms. I don't necessarily speak too much of mucus in my journey post, but you can read of how as a beginner it all started out for me just 4 months ago and what I ended up doing to find the balance of diet and supplements that has helped me reach a point that I am feeling better than I thought I ever could in the last 8 years.

Go here if you haven't already, and see if any of this info can get you on track with your symptoms :-) The yellow mucus thing was normal for me too, bile made mine turn yellow.

Mucus in stools is common with MC early on. As you heal the mucus goes away. It takes awhile. Also the belly grumbling is common with MC early on. The belly grumbling took about a year to finally dissipate for me.
