When it rains, it pours! Spider Bite!

Post by jlbattin »

So, I'll be off shortly to the doctor (I was just there yesterday for the bone density test) to have him check out what we think is a spider bit on my inner left arm. It has now caused a red streak in both directions which tells me the venom is going into my lymph glands or somewhere it shouldn't be going. I'm terrified only because I really don't want to be on an antibiotic, but I did try essential oils and it didn't do much or maybe I didn't give it enough time. I'm erring on the side of caution. Would rather take the set back with an antibiotic than to be laid up for days because it got into my whole system and totally destroyed me for awhile.

Well that's a heck of a note.

Best of luck, whatever happens,

Thanks, Tex. It is a heck of a note! la la la! :)

Back from the doctor........he could see where it has already receded some and it looks like it's just running along one vein............he did write me a prescription for Keflex (which I know is the worst antibiotic in the world for us), but he doesn't think I need to take it unless it gets bigger................I don't think it will, and it won't if I can help it..........I've been dosing with essential oils which seem to be doing the trick...................

I told him that Keflex wasn't good for us, but he just said if I had any trouble to call him.........so, here's hoping I don't have to take it and that it'll continute to get better with my essential oils that I've been using!

HI Jari,
That's a big bummer! Gee, get better soon :-)

Those essential oils...I've never used them...are they external, and what did you use?

Update:

No Keflex for me! YAY! It has really receded today thanks to my essential oils (Erica, I sent you a message in regards to your question about the essential oils). It'll be gone in another couple of days. Thank goodness!

GLad To Hear!!

Post by TREESE »

Hey, glad to hear you got away with having to take that Antibiotic! Happened to me last week when I had some weird infection and had to go to the ER for my throat swelling. They put me on Azithromycin...the stomach started reacting pretty quickly. By Tuesday, it was D-Day...Literally!! Felt like that day-1 feeling, when I was first diagnosed with CC, all over again.

But thankfully, it wasn't day 1 and I know a lot more now about how to get myself back on track. I'm sure you would have, too! Just really glad you were spared that whole experience! Yay!!

Take Care,
