Seahawk fever!

Post by JJ »

Whoa....our local team, the Seahawks are in the playoffs....they are ahead 27-7....people around here will go nuts if they make it to the Super Bowl...I am not a big foot ball fan, but it's kind of cool that our local team has done so well.

I had a marathon ski weekend, and still have not skied! Uffda...yesterday I was busy planning today's ski program, and one of our ski school kids broke her clavicle (sp?)Spent time in Ski patrol with her! I got home from Vashon at 10PM last night and got up at 5:30 to load up the ski bus for my school program. One kid lost her new $50 goggles...grrrrr...then severely sprained her ankle in her lesson. She spent the afternoon in Ski Patrol....I tell ya....I need a good day of skiing without kids! I have to say...it was very foggy up there and I probably would not have been happy dodging others on the hill. Well, back to the game.... JJ

Congrats, JJ!
I was thinking about you guys up there when I saw the end of that game. The first one's always the sweetest, and it's fun whether you're a big fan or not. I'll probably be rooting for the Seahawks just cause they've never had a been there before. Back in the 70's when the bald guy and Lynn Swann were playing, Pittsburg was great fun to watch. (Hope I've got the right team! Ha!) Anyway, now I know nothing about either of them.

So when is the big game -- around Feb 5th??

Enjoy all the enthusiasm as it's a change from the hum drum and gets everyone into such a good mood -- great water cooler conversation!

Yours, Luce

Hi JJ,

Geez, the Seahawks. Who'd believe it, huh? Here in AZ there are a lot of Washington, Minnesota, Wisconson, BC natives (snowbirds and transplants) who follow their teams, so there was a lot of cheering and phone calls, believe me. Hardly anybody in AZ was raised here.

Teenagers. Gotta love em? :mallet:

Hiya, Jill, and congrats to the Seahawks!

I will be rooting for them, too - from all the way "back east". Although Pittsburgh is just a state away, the Steelers have always been HUGE rivals of the Baltimore Ravens. NO WAY I could ever root for the Steelers and still remain a member of my family. LOL.

GO SEAHAWKS!

Love,

Polly

Yay Jill!!

I got sucked into watching yesterday....I'm not much of a football fan but it was fun to see such an excited crowd of fans...reminds me of when the 49ers won the playoffs the *first* time in 81, I think (?) people around here were sooo excited to see their team go all the way!

I like to root for the longshots - probably for the sake of their loyal fans - I was soo happy when the Red Sox won - I guess now it's time for the Cubs to make it to the World Series!

I watch the Superbowl mostly for the commercials - but I'm glad the teams going have either never been or not been in a long time!!

Mary

PS My mom went into labor with me during the first Superbowl - I was born the next day

Well being in Detroit where Super Bowl XL is being held it is Super Bowl all day, all night, all the time. 14 blocks of downtown streets will be closed off for one week. And the parties..... every venue in the area is booked for a party. There are family activities going on all over the place too including the Winter Blast, an outdoor skating, snowboarding extravaganza.

Let the game begin and the $$$ roll in!! Go Detroit!

M,

Just hope the partying is as well behaved as it was here, but then Houston celebrations are always like that for some reason. Only misbehavin' was Janet Jackson's and what's-his-name's. Ha! That's probably the only thing that anyone remembers about that game!

I'm hoping that the bad elements from New Orleans living here now won't cause any problems when the next big event comes along. That city sure did have a high crime rate! That part of it is really creating problems for us now.

Yours, Luce
